During processing, polyolefins often stick to themselves or to a metal surface. A desirable friction coefficient for polyolefins in solid form typically lies between 0.2 and 0.3. In day-to-production, however, the molten form of the polyolefin rarely achieves this coefficient value.
Yet, these values can be achieved by employing Slip masterbatches. In this context, CONSTAB offers a large number of masterbatches that contain migrating – for example, fatty acid amides – or non-migrating Slip additives. These allow the manufacturers to produce films with the desired COF-value.
